How to duplicate a Sprint

Make a copy of a sprint, including all its sessions, agendas and resources, to run a similar phase of work again.

Duplicating creates a new sprint with the same challenge statement and a copy of every session in it, including agenda items and resources. Use it to repeat a phase of work with a new group.

Steps

  1. In the Instigator sidebar, click Sprints.
  2. Click the ... menu on the sprint's row and click Duplicate. You can also open the sprint and use the ... menu next to its name.
  3. Confirm with OK when asked "Are you sure?".
  4. The copy opens. Its name starts with "Copy of".
  5. Click Edit sprint to rename the copy and update its Start date and Challenge statement.

What changes in the copy

  • Every session is copied into the new sprint, with its agenda items and resources. The copied sessions get no Miro board link, so new virtual posters are created when you play them.
  • Sprint reports from the original sprint are also copied.
  • The copy is not linked to a project, even if the original was.
  • The copy stays in the same workspace as the original.

Tips

  • You can also choose Previous under Make a sprint from in the Create sprint window, then pick one of your earlier sprints. This copies its sessions in the same way and lets you name the new sprint straight away.
  • In your personal Sprints list, Duplicate to Team creates a copy inside one of your teams.
  • To reuse a sprint many times, use Create template instead.
