How to use Sprints
Create a sprint, add sessions to it and use the sprint page to share, copy, report on and archive a phase of work.
A sprint groups several sessions into one phase of innovation work. This article shows how to create a sprint, add sessions and find the main sprint actions.
Before you start
- On a Free license the Sprints page shows an upgrade message, unless you are a member of a team. On Basic you can create up to 12 sprints.
- Sprints created in My Work are personal. Sprints created while a team is selected in the workspace switcher (the narrow strip on the far left) belong to that team.
Steps
- In the workspace switcher, click My Work or a team's initials.
- In the Instigator sidebar, click Sprints.
- Click Create sprint (top right). You can also click the + icon in the top header and then + Create sprint.
- In the Create sprint window, under Make a sprint from, choose Scratch for an empty sprint.
- Enter a Name (required). Optionally add a Challenge statement and a Start date.
- Click Create a Sprint. The new sprint page opens.
- Click Create session to add a session. It is linked to this sprint automatically. Repeat for each workshop in the phase.
- Click Sprint detail under the sprint name to show or hide the challenge statement and dates.
Sprint actions
On the sprint page, the buttons above the session list are Create session, Edit sprint, Generate Sprint Report (or View Sprint Report once a report exists), Share, Agenda and Archive. The ... menu next to the sprint name also offers Duplicate, Create template and Delete.
On the Sprints list, the ... menu on each row adds Detail and Move to folder. In My Work, if you belong to a team, it also shows Move to Team and Duplicate to Team.
Tips
- Use the search box on the Sprints page to find a sprint by name, and click the column headers to sort the list.
- Click New folder to organize sprints into folders.
- Every action that changes data asks "Are you sure?". Click OK to continue.
