How to move a Sprint to another project

Moving an existing sprint to another project is not currently available. Copy it into the target project instead.

In earlier versions you could change a sprint's project from the sprint form. This option is not currently available: the edit sprint form has no project field, and the sprint menus have no action to change the project. A sprint is linked to a project only when you create it from that project's page.

Before you start

  • Move to folder in the sprint row menu only moves a sprint between folders. It does not change its project.
  • Move to Team moves a personal sprint into a team workspace. It does not change its project either.

Steps

Use this workaround to get the same sprint into another project:

  1. Open the target project and click Create sprint.
  2. Under Make a sprint from, select Previous.
  3. Pick the sprint you want to move from the dropdown.
  4. Enter a Name (required). You can reuse the original name.
  5. Click Create a Sprint. The new sprint is linked to the project and contains a copy of every session, with agenda items and resources.
  6. Go back to the original sprint and click Archive, or use Delete in the ... menu next to its name if you no longer need it.

Tips

  • Check the copy before you delete the original. Deleting a sprint also deletes its sessions.
  • Archiving is safer than deleting: you can always unarchive the original later.
