How to create a Template from a Sprint

Save a copy of a sprint, with all its sessions, agendas and resources, as a personal template you can reuse from the Template library.

When a sprint works well, save it as a template so you can run the same format again. SolveNext Lab makes a template copy of the sprint and leaves the original sprint unchanged.

Before you start

You can create a template from sprints you own, sprints in your team workspaces, and sprints shared with you. The option is not shown for archived sprints.

Steps

  1. In the Instigator sidebar, click Sprints.
  2. Click the ... menu on the sprint's row and click Create template. You can also open the sprint and use the ... menu next to its name.
  3. Confirm with OK when asked "Are you sure?".
  4. The new template opens with the message "Sprint was successfully duplicated." Its name starts with "Template from".
  5. Click Edit sprint in the ... menu to give the template a clearer name and update its Challenge statement.

What is in the template

  • Every session in the sprint, with its agenda items and resources.
  • The sprint's challenge statement.
  • The template is personal: only you see it, and it shows Me in the Created by column.
  • The template is not linked to a project.

Use your template

  1. In the sidebar, click Template library and open the Sprints tab.
  2. Click the ... menu on the template's row and click Create sprint from template.

You can also choose Template under Make a sprint from in the Create sprint window.

Tips

  • Changes you make to the template later do not affect sprints already created from it.
  • Admins can make the template available to everyone. See How to create a Global Template.
