How to create a Global Template

SolveNext admins can publish a sprint or session template to all users, optionally limited to a license level.

A global template is available to every user in the Template library and shows Solve Next in the Created by column. Only SolveNext admins can create global templates.

Before you start

  • You need the SolveNext admin role. If you are not an admin, the Global option is not shown and you can only create Personal templates.
  • Global templates can be sprints or sessions. Project templates are not available.

Steps

Create a new global template

  1. In the Instigator sidebar, click Template library.
  2. Click Create template.
  3. In the New template from scratch window, under Template type, select Sprint or Session.
  4. Under Template access, select Global.
  5. In Available in, choose who can use it: Pro, Basic, Free or Partner Exclusive.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Enter a Name and click Create new template.
  8. The new template opens. Add sessions, drills and agenda items as you would in any sprint or session.

Make an existing template global

  1. Open the template from the Template library.
  2. Open the ... menu and click Edit (for a sprint, Edit sprint).
  3. Tick Is global template.
  4. Optionally tick Free template, Basic template, Pro template or Partner exclusive to set the license level.
  5. Click Confirm changes to Sprint or Confirm changes to Session.

Tips

  • Users on a lower plan still see license-restricted templates in the list, marked with a star icon. Clicking one opens an upgrade message.
  • To turn a sprint or session you already built into a template first, use Create template in its ... menu, then make the copy global.
  • Use tags so users can find your template with Filter.
