Teams overview
How teams and team workspaces work in SolveNext Lab: roles, the workspace switcher, joining, seats and who can manage what.
A team gives a group of people a shared workspace in SolveNext Lab. Sessions, sprints, projects, opportunities, portfolios and AI chats created in a team workspace belong to the team, so every member can see them and work on them together.
Why it matters
Teams let you plan workshops and manage an innovation portfolio together instead of in separate personal accounts. Your personal workspace stays separate, so joining a team never changes or removes your own work.
Key concepts
- Team workspace: each team has its own workspace with its own sprints, sessions, opportunities and portfolios. Every new team starts with five portfolios: Unassigned, Maximize, Renew, Grow and Optimize.
- Workspace switcher: the narrow strip on the far left of the screen. Click My Work for your personal workspace, or click a team's initials to open that team. Hover over a square to see the team name. If you belong to several teams, each one has its own square.
- Roles: a team has Team users (members) and Team admins. Members can view and create content in the workspace. Team admins can also add and remove people, invite new users and give or remove the admin role. Managing members requires a Professional license.
- Who can create a team: users with a Professional license, plus SolveNext and partner administrators. The person who creates a team becomes its first team admin.
- Joining a team: a team admin can add you directly, invite you by email, or you can find the team from Find your team on the Home page and click Request to join. Enterprise teams can also add new users automatically based on their email domain.
- Seats: some teams have a maximum number of members. Only SolveNext administrators can set this limit.
- Licenses: when you're added to a team that has a license period, your license follows the team's. If you're removed, your account returns to a two-week trial.
Where to find it
- Team admins see an ADMIN section in the Instigator sidebar with a TEAMS link. It lists your teams. Click a team name to open its page.
- Inside a team workspace, the Admin team users section in the sidebar has Users (the member list) and Dashboard (team activity).
- On the team page, open the menu (three dots) for Edit This Team, Back to Teams and Add User.
