How to create a team

Who can create a team in SolveNext Lab, where to find the Create Team button, and what each field on the team form means.

This article explains who can create a team and what each field on the new team form means. For what happens after you create a team, see Creating a new team.

Before you start

  • You need a Professional license. SolveNext and partner administrators can also create teams.
  • If you don't meet these requirements, clicking Create Team opens an upgrade prompt.

Steps

  1. Open the Teams page. If you already manage a team, click TEAMS in the ADMIN section of the Instigator sidebar. If that section isn't shown yet (for example, before your first team), go to lab.solvenext.com/teams.
  2. Below the list of teams, click Create Team.
  3. On the New team page, enter a Name (required).
  4. Click Create Team.

Form fields

Most users only see Name. SolveNext and partner administrators also see these fields:

  • License issue date and License expiration date: the team's license period. Members' licenses follow these dates.
  • License: shown for reference. It can't be changed here.
  • Seats: the maximum number of members. Leave it blank for no limit.
  • Enterprise wide: choose Yes if the team has an enterprise license.
  • Enterprise wide domains: comma-separated email domains, such as company.com. New users who sign up with these domains can be added to the team automatically.
  • Partner: the partner organization that owns the team.

Tips

  • Pick a clear name. The app builds the team's ID from it, and people use that ID to find the team with Find your team.
  • You can change the name later. See How to edit a team.
