Navigate between Projects and Innovation Opportunities

Move between a project's Innovation Opportunity page in the Leader view and its project page with sprints in the Instigator view.

Every project has a linked Innovation Opportunity. The opportunity page (Leader view) shows its portfolio, Next Cycle progress, hypotheses and budget. The project page (Instigator view) shows its sprints. Here is how to move between them.

Open the opportunity from your project list

  1. Open the Leader view and choose your workspace in the strip on the far left (My Work or a team).
  2. In the sidebar, click Innovation Opportunities.
  3. Click the project's name, or choose Detail in the row's ... menu. The Innovation Opportunity page opens.

On the opportunity page, click Opportunity detail to expand the project's Challenge statement, Objectives, Description, dates, Budget, Responsible and linked Next Tools.

Open the project page from the opportunity

The opportunity page has no direct link to the project page. To open the project and its sprints:

  1. Click Next Lab | Instigator at the bottom of the Leader sidebar.
  2. Type the project's name (the same as the opportunity's name) in the search box in the header.
  3. Click the project in the results. The project page opens with its sprints.

About "Take me to Innovation Opportunity view"

Earlier versions had a Take me to Innovation Opportunity view option in the project page menu. It is not shown on the project page at the moment. To go from a project to its opportunity, click Next Lab | Leader in the Instigator sidebar and follow the steps in the first section above. If you need help with this, contact SolveNext support.

Tips

  • The Leader header search also finds projects by name and opens their opportunity pages directly.
  • The Instigator header search only finds active projects that you created. To reach a team project someone else created, open its opportunity from the team's Innovation Opportunities list instead.
