How to duplicate your Projects
Make a copy of a project and its Innovation Opportunity details to start a similar initiative quickly.
Duplicating creates a new project with the same details as the original, plus a new linked Innovation Opportunity. Use it to start a similar initiative without retyping everything.
Before you start
You can duplicate projects you created, projects in your team workspaces, and projects shared with you.
Steps
- Open the Leader view and choose your workspace in the strip on the far left (My Work or a team).
- In the sidebar, click Innovation Opportunities.
- Click the ... menu on the project's row and click Duplicate.
- Confirm with OK when asked "Are you sure?".
- The new opportunity page opens with the message "Opportunity was successfully duplicated." Its name starts with "Copy of".
- Click the ... menu at the top right of the page and click Edit to rename the copy and update its dates and other details.
What is copied
- The project's Challenge statement, Objectives, Description, Start Date, End Date, Budget and Responsible.
- A new opportunity is created in the Unassigned portfolio of the same workspace.
- Sprints and sessions are not copied, and neither are hypotheses, small bets, resources, spending or Next Tools from the original opportunity.
Tips
- Projects shared with you also have a Duplicate option. In the Instigator sidebar, click Shared with me, then use the ... menu on the project's row.
- Sprints are not copied with the project. To reuse a sprint, duplicate it from the Instigator Sprints list.
