How to create a small bet and record its outcomes, LFI and LFI implications
Add a small bet to a hypothesis, then record its outcomes, LFI and LFI implications, attach evidence and generate follow-up small bets.
Small bets are added inside a hypothesis. You can describe the experiment first and come back later to record what happened and what you learned.
Before you start
- You need a hypothesis on the opportunity. See Hypotheses overview.
- Creating hypotheses requires a Pro license.
Steps
- Open the opportunity. In the Leader sidebar, click Innovation Opportunities and click its name.
- Click the Assumptions vs Knowledge heading, then click the text of the hypothesis you want to test.
- Under Small bets, click Add small bet.
- In Describe the small bet, explain the experiment.
- Click Save. You see "Hypothesis was successfully updated."
Record outcomes, LFI and implications
- After running the experiment, open the same hypothesis again.
- Fill in Small bet outcomes with what happened.
- Fill in Write down your LFI with the key learning.
- Fill in LFI implications with what the learning means for the opportunity.
- Under Result, choose True or False if you now have evidence. Keep Untested if you don't.
- Click Save.
Attach evidence
After a small bet has been saved with a description, an Add resource link appears below it. Click it, then either click Choose a file or enter a link in URL (https:// ...), add a Name and click Save.
Generate a follow-up small bet
Click Generate Small Bet From LFI below a saved small bet's LFI implications. A new, linked small bet appears. Describe it and click Save.
Tips
- To remove a small bet, click the remove icon next to it and click Save.
- Generate Small Bet From LFI only links the new small bet when the original one is already saved.
