How to change the portfolio of an Innovation Opportunity
Move an Innovation Opportunity to another portfolio from its Edit page so it counts toward that portfolio's budget and metrics.
You can move an opportunity to another portfolio at any time, for example from Unassigned to Grow once you know what kind of bet it is.
Before you start
- You need a Pro license to edit opportunities.
- You can only choose from the portfolios in the opportunity's context: your personal portfolios or the team's portfolios.
Steps
- Open the opportunity. In the Leader sidebar, click Innovation Opportunities and click its name.
- Click the three-dots menu at the top right and choose Edit. You can also choose Edit from the row menu in the Innovation Opportunities list.
- In the Portfolio dropdown, choose Unassigned, Maximize, Renew, Grow or Optimize.
- Click Save.
You return to the opportunity page and see "Opportunity was successfully updated." The portfolio name now appears above the opportunity name.
Tips
- When an opportunity is in Unassigned, the edit page doesn't show the Budget field and the opportunity page shows a message instead of the Budget card. After you move it to another portfolio, open Edit again to set its budget.
- The opportunity's budget cannot be more than the budget of its new portfolio. If needed, raise the portfolio budget first. See How to allocate the Next Fund (innovation budget).
- Portfolio spending totals are recalculated when you save.
